On the 17th August 2013, Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy Head Coach Q Shillingford was presented with a cheque for £1000 for the club by the Tim Lewis Trust in recognition of his excellent work at the Academy. The £1000 grant from the Tim Lewis Trust will be used  for CPD for coaches at the club as well, icluding funding them to attend the sports coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop.

Q had previously been named Gillette Community Coach of the Year at the 2012 UK Coaching Awards: Supported by Gillette, for which he received £1000. He dedicated the Gillette prize money to providing CPD opportunities for other coaches within the club. The Trustees were impressed by this, and Q’s excellent work at the Academy, and decided to make Q the first coach to receive a grant from the Trust.

The Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy was founded in September 2008, based in the Heart of the City of Portsmouth. The club was set up with the aim of 'keeping the youth off the street and engaging them into a physical activity that all of them can do'.

The Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy 'prides itself on being a place where people of all genders, abilities, age and fitness can attend and have a feeling of achievement and self worth.'
